Elders

So now you’re an Elder…

We like handing out promotions – they’re fun to both give and receive. We don’t have many requirements for Elders beyond being active, attacking in war, and enforcing the clan’s war rules. It is your responsibility to promote the goals of the clan as a whole, and to maintain a positive culture within the clan. Because an Elder has the ability to kick people out, invite people in, and accept requests to join, we want to make sure everyone is on the same page with respect to those activities.

Kicking people out

Elders should be familiar with the culture of the clan and be able to recognize when someone has gone too far and deserves to be kicked out of the clan.  Don’t hesitate to boot anyone that is being completely crude or rude in clan chat, but please don’t take things personally and boot people just because you don’t agree with their views.  We generally are less lenient with new players because first impressions are important.  If someone comes into the clan and fires off in the wrong direction, there really is no reason to have them stick around.

Inviting people in

First and foremost, make sure they meet the clan standards for base and troop levels.  If they do not meet the standards but you feel they are close enough to be given a shot, feel free to talk to a co-leader about getting them in the clan.  Please do not recruit people out of global chat.  If you are interested in helping with recruiting, please help the clan in forum recruiting.  Ask a co-leader if you’d like to find out how. If trophies need to be lowered to get an invite in, ask for a co-leader to change the trophy level – we are happy to do so for the right people.

Accepting requests to get in

First and foremost, make sure they meet the clan standards for base and troop levels. Do not accept a request until you have inspected the requester and seen that they do in fact meet the standards.  Worse case, you can wait for a co-leader to show up and do it.  If someone has been recruited off of the forums, they will indicate that in the request message.  Still take the time to inspect their base and troop levels to see that they meet the minimum requirements.  Don’t forget that we also have other clans in the family, so you can allow someone in for a short time that don’t meet the minimum requirements for the clan, but might be able to get caught up to speed in one of the others.  In that case, accept their request so that you can interview them and point them in the right direction.  Remember if trophies need to be lowered, ask a co-leader.

That pretty much sums everything up!  We are glad that you are willing to accept the Elder leadership responsibility in the clan and clash on!
